click here _____________________ net aware social media guide for parents from the nspcc - click here _____________________ cashless catering info _____________________ ofsted report april 2016 _____________________ direct attendance line: 01494 893474 _____________________ twitter accounts: @highcrestac @highcrestart @highcrest6form @highcrestpe highcrest celebrates best-ever a-level results students and staff at the highcrest academy are celebrating the high wycombe school’s best-ever a-level and btec results. at a-level, there was a 100 per cent pass rate with 68% achieving the top a-c grades. results in level 3 btec, the equivalent of a-levels, were also excellent with 100% achieving at least a merit, and 53% of students achieving distinctions including double distinction stars. delighted principal shena moynihan said: “i don’t ever recollect us getting grades as good as these. the 100% pass rate means that every student passed every subject. this is a fantastic reward for all the hard work put in by the students, who attended extra revision classes in their holidays. “i would also like to pay tribute to the teachers who went the extra mile for the pupils, and to the support we received from the parents and from the governors. the vast majority of students have secured the university courses they wanted. it’s lovely to see these students come in to school as children in year 7 and leave as remarkable young adults with the world at their feet.” the highest-achieving student in the school was sanam mohammad who obtained six a-levels, four of them at a grade and two at b. she achieved a grades in english literature, history, psychology and sociology, and bs in politics and religious studies. mahnoor afridi, 19, who only entered the country three years ago with very limited english, achieved an a star in a-level sociology and cs in a-level psychology and history. she said: “i am very pleased. i wasn’t expecting the a star in sociology.” haroon tahir, 19, notched two bs and a c and is going to university to study politics and history. “i was hoping for an a in history but was only one mark away, but i still got into my chosen university,” he said. “i think it’s all about being proactive and working the extra hours outside of school. i studied extremely hard. “i want to thank all the teachers and staff for pushing me along. i stayed late at school and up late at night and today is proof that all the hard work has paid off.” zayn ghalib, 18, who wants to be an accountant, also found his hard work paid off after earning better than expected btec grades -
